Surf’s Up in The Colony: Fireside Surf's Grand Launch at Grandscape

Fireside Surf has made a splash with its soft opening at Grandscape, The Colony, introducing a unique surf experience and dining venue to the North Texas area. Co-owners and former Green Berets, Patton Nix and Billy Adams, have fused their passion for surfing with the culinary arts to offer an unexpected oasis amid the bustle of city life. Their 16,359-square-foot space, complete with palm trees and surf rock beats, simulates a perfect beach day irrespective of the season, providing a resort-like escapade where families can bond, dine on globally inspired healthy cuisine, and ride the waves at a balmy 84.7 degrees.

The venue, which opened its doors on February 23, features a City Wave pool, allowing both novices and seasoned surfers to hone their skills on consistent, rideable waves. This state-of-the-art surf technology is one of only twenty in the world, offering an accelerated learning curve likened to a "treadmill for surfing." The spot has become an instant attraction at Grandscape, complemented by its adjacent experiential neighbors.

With plans for future competitions and collaborations with the local school district, Fireside Surf is setting the stage to become a community hub. All this was made possible with the assistance of Samuels & Company, Inc., who played a key role in the negotiation process for this innovative concept.
